The southwest area of Nampa is one of the fastest growing areas in the Treasure Valley. The City of Nampa recognized the need to identify a connection between the southern end of Middleton Road to Highway 45. The City sought assistance from COMPASS to secure funding a corridor study. This project received federal funding, and Parametrix was hired to complete the study.
This project will:
- Fulfill transportation plans identified in the City of Nampa’s Comprehensive Plan
- Identify the best corridor to connect Middleton Road with State Highway 45 south of Nampa
- Complete an Environmental Assessment
- Identify right-of-way for preservation and acquisition
With additional funding provided in August 2004, the study will also include an Environmental Assessment in order to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). An Environmental Assessment is a public document that analyzes the level of significance of any environmental effects of this project. NEPA compliance is required before any resulting federally funded project can be constructed.
