October 5 - 6, 2005 OPEN HOUSES

Based on the input received from previous public meetings, the COMPASS Board adopted a new land use scenario for Communities in Motion in June, 2005. The selected scenario, called "Community Choices," is a departure from current patterns of growth reflected in the Trend scenario. Since then, COMPASS and member agencies developed optimal transportation networks for both scenarios. In October the public commented on the transportation networks and reiterated their preference: Over 300 people attended the open houses and 82% of the participants expressed their scenario preference by placing a poker chip in a box. By a six to one margin they selected Community Choices.
