COMPASS and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) have identified U.S. 20/26 as a priority for corridor preservation due to the high rate of growth in Ada and Canyon Counties. Since the corridor is a significant regional transportation route linking several cities, use of the corridor for multi-modal purposed will be identified.
The study will develop the corridor plan, will prepare an environmental review to enable ITD to acquire right-of-way, and will conduct comprehensive public involvement.
